Happy New Year everyone!!!
Hope it'll be a good year for all...

Been pretty busy lately.. All the Xmas, New Year celebration... Really in holidaying mood....Haha...

Recently just finished off with a batch of cupcakes and tiramisu for a close friend.
He's having a post Xmas and New Year celebration with his bunch of friends and wanted tiramisu and some cupcakes for his party.

Made a box of tiramisu and some mini oreo cheese cupcakes and Rum & raisins cupcakes for the party.









Besides for the party itself, he wanted to give a cupcake to each of his guest as a "thank you" gift...
Did some DIY to the off the shelves boxes to make them more presentable..

Birthday Cupcakes

Been ages since my last update.. Duno what am I buzy with... Or was it just plain laziness??!! Haha...

Baked some Blueberries chocolate cupcakes last night.. They're for 3 of my peers whose birthday happened to fall on the same day, 4th Nov!!

Something simple as I dun have much time to "beautify" them.. Rich chocolate ganache topped off with a glazed cherry.. Hope they liked them..
So, Happy Birthday Chris, Mer and Kum!!

Another Order!!! Yeah......

Had an order for 70 pieces of Cupcakes over the weekend..
The cupcakes were meant for a pre-moon cake festival celebration... haha...

Baked 2 flavors for the cupcakes:
1. The good old Blueberry Chocolate cupcakes &
2. New flavor, Kahlua cupcakes (no cocoa powder this time)

3 flavors for the Frosting:
a. Chocolate Ganache for the Blueberry Chocolate cupcakes,
b. Kahlua Swiss Meringue Butter Cream for the Kahlua cupcakes &
c. Kahlua Whipped cream (no cocoa powder again!) for the Kahlua cupcakes

I was told the cupcakes were almost gone, only 4 or 5 pieces left in the fridge.. haha.. if only I could go around to those who tasted the cupcakes for their comments... I could improve my cupcakes for better...

Sorry folks, no pictures... I was dead tired after frosting the cupcakes and cleaning up the kitchen.. No more energy left to take pix.. haha.. Next time.. I'll make sure I take some pix of my end product..

Blueberry Chocolate Cupcakes with Rich Chocolate Ganache

Baked some blueberry chocolate cuppies on Wednesday. They were meant for my doctor whom I visit for my regular "face maintenance" (got to look forever 24 years old... whhahahahahaha....)....

The first batch of chocolate ganache I made was a total disaster.. I ended up with a layer of oil in my ganache, and the texture were all grainy... Yucks!!
Frantically searched thru the net to look for an answer on what causes the disaster...
Realized the cause might be due to the overheating the ingredients (got the answers from "Real Baking with Rose Levy Beranbaum"), causing the fat to "separate" from the chocolate...
No choice, the first batch of chocolate ganache was a complete flop, I had to discard the whole batch.. ITS SO OILY!!! Think I can even extract the layer of oil and fry some french fries with it..hahhahaa....

Scramble thru (it's 12am when I started with the 2nd batch) to start on the next batch of ganache, this time no more cheating by melting the chocolate in the microwave..

First order!!

Couple of weeks back, I was really thrilled when a colleague told me she liked my blueberries chocolate cupcakes with Chocolate ganache and wanted to order some from me for her husband's birthday!!!

Haha!!! This is really one big piece of good news for me in 2007 (thou the year hasn't ended yet.. haha...)!!

Order accepted!!!

She wanted 29 of them.. Oh mann... Even if I'm to sacrifice my sleep, I die will also ensure my order is smoothly "executed"!!

On the night before my "delivery date", my production "plant" was officially opened!!!

The cupcakes were finally done and delivered the next day..

Glad that my colleague's husband liked the cupcakes and some of her husband's peers even asked where were the cupcakes purchased!! Darn... Should had imprinted my contacts all over the box.... Whahaha.. This is really the greatest satisfaction I have!!!

Wonder when will the next order come in.... hahahaha...

Happy Birthday Singapore!!

Its Singapore's birthday today, Happy Birthday!!!

My little princess came over to my place.. She sooooooo cute!!! Gave me a bear hug when she saw me at the gate.. haha...

Played with her for awhile (she's coming to two only...) and started my day of baking...

Couldn't decide what to bake today.. Been baking chocolate cupcakes for the last couple of weeks...
So... Me ended up baking the following:
1. Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Banana Pastry Cream
filling and Chocolate Ganache topping
2. Strawberries Cupcakes with Raspberry Swiss Meringue topping
3. Rum & Rasins Cupcakes
4. Blueberries Crumbles Cupcakes


Mann... was I tired for trying so many flavors......

Dad likes the blueberries Crumble cupcakes followed by the peanut butter cupcakes.. peanut butter cupcakes without the banana pastry cream and chocolate ganache to be exact... Dad's not a adventurist when it comes to food.. He hates banana and chocolate.. haha... doesn't like rasins also.. What he like best?? Plain old butter cakes... *Boooorrrringggggg*... ok, sometimes he likes it with walnuts... haha...

Princess? She juz like any cakes la... give her anything, she'll juz eat.. dun like? juz spit it out... hahaha...

And dun worry, I didn't feed her any of the Rum and Rasins Cupcakes.. haha...

Cousin Liang liked almost all the cakes.. except.. again.. Chocolate..

Hiaz... Nobody seems to like Chocolate much in this house... while I'm a great fan of chocolate... Funny....
I liked the strawberry cupcake with raspberry swiss Meringue topping.. Nice... Rum & rasins, another of my fav also...

Baby doesn't like banana.. Same as Dad.. haha.. He doesn't like strawberries either.. so, left with blueberries crumbles and Rum & Rasins.. ok, let him try tomorrow and see what he says....

Nintendo WII Day

Cousins, Xiao Pang and Liang, staying over till weekend.. Why? They were lured over by the power of.....NINTENDO WII!!!

Its 12.36am now.. They're still stuck to the TV, growling over every move they missed.. haha. Seeing Xiao Pang play was such an entertainment.. This primary 5 kido has a stomach that that is bigger than the gasoline cylinder hiding in the stove.. haha...

When the action come when he is required to sway both his hands as if he's running for his life, you'll get to see his whole stomach wobbling vigorously... not only stomach, every inch of his extra fats would be wobbling in excitement... hhahaha...

They said they like my blueberries crumbles cupcakes.. Starting baking some for them..

Made a batch of 20 minis for them.. guess should be enough for them to last thru the wee hours tonite.. Judging from they way they're hooked to the games, they should be "fighting" all the way to early morning.. Really REALLY early.. hahaha..

These cuppies would come in and be their snacks, in case they get hungry for "exercising" so much while playing the games.. haha...

Once out of the oven, Dad ate 2.. haha.. he liked them straight from the oven... said the crumbles are more "crispy" when they're juz baked....



Hope they won't make too much noise while playing tonite... If they do...... I'll juz cut their throat... haha

"Berry Melting Devils" Episode II

Today... the 2nd sequel of my "Berry Melting Devils" journey... haha...

Ew tried the cupcakes I gave her yesterday.. 6 cupcakes... And what happened???

She ate 3 out of the 6 at 1 blow la!!! She loves them.. hahaha.... And the other 3? I duno, she have 2 or 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 3 or 4 sisters.. wonder how they divide the cupcakes.. haha.. All I knew was her niece, M, took 1 also.. she liked it...

Should had packed more for her..

EW told me she want more.. want me to bake her more on our next meeting.. Hmm... Now you got hooked on, you'll need to PAY for them!!!! Whahahaha... Buy 10 and get 2 free...

She negotiated to buy 1 get 1 free... You go bake yourself la!! hahaha...

Ok la, since you're my best friend.. give you 10 for free this time.. next time you pay!! Whahahha...

So far, she liked this cupcake best and next would be my lemon sour cream cheesecake..

She haven't tried my Tiramisu yet.. wait till you try.. heh heh..

"Melting Devils"!!!!

Woke up damn early this morning.. 7am!! Can't get back to sleep... hiaz... Meeting 2 of my close friends today... hmm... can't sleep anyway...

Okie, decide liao! Shall bake some cupcakes for them!! Haha..

Hmm... What shall I bake...

Finally decided to make some Blueberries Chocolate Cupcakes for them, my special "Melting Devils".. hahaha.... or should I rename them.... "Berry Melting Devils"!!!

Contemplating what should be the topping for the cuppies... Swiss Meringue Buttercream? Hmm... Na.. We're staying out till late, the buttercream sure bound to take the gooey state by the time they get the cupcakes back..

Icing? Plain leh...No.. No...

Finally decided with Chocolate Ganache, think they should be able to "tahan" thru the day..

Next, Chocolate Ganache seems abit boring...

Chocolate Ganache with fruits toppings? Looks nice, but.... under this weather.. better not..

OK! It shall be Chocolate Ganache with Pepper Mint Icing topping!!!

This dynamic duo should compliment each other and should be able to withstand being out in this weather for a long day.. I hope.. haha...

See that? This is the end product of my "brain-storming"... Haha.. Pretty?? Ok la... Hahaha...

Plan to give each of them a box of 6 cuppies, for them to bring home and share with their family.

As usual, VC came and pick me and meet EW in town.

Promised to make him Tiramisu in exchange for a bottle of Myers Dark Rum he got me from his recent biz trip.. our form of "trading".. hahaha...

He simply LOVES my Tiramisu!! Even said he's going to order Tiramisu from me for his Christmas party this year.. even planned when to collect them.. Asked me to mark my calendar...hahahaha.. OKIE! On!!

Handed over the box of cuppies to him, and he was quite impressed with my so called "handicraft work" on the cuppies.. haha.. said he couldn't imagine someone so "un-womanly" like me can "create" such stuffs..haha..

Oh mann, you are so so wrong!!! I scored "A"s in my art n crafts during school days k (on canvas and papers la)!!


He started mumbling to himself how and when to eat the cupcakes.. OMG!! He's planning to take all the 6 cuppies for himself!! No..no.. you're suppose to share them with your nephew and sis!!! Not all for yourself!!! Haha..

Ok, off we go to meet EW in town..

Had tim sum for lunch (super late lunch.. its 3.30pm when we met EW), shop around and caught Jay Chow's latest movie, Secret.

After the show, VC said he's hungry, suggested to go TCC for a bite..

While waiting to be seated, both VC and EW were gazing at the panel of cakes display and discussing which cake they should order later... "No!! No!!! You two cannot eat any CAKES!!!! I have 6 cupcakes for each of you waiting in the car!!" Their eyes were wide opened when they heard that... Hahaha.. "Ok la.. You can have cakes.. BUT! No chocolate cakes!! I don't want you two to mix up the tastes when you have my cupcakes later!!!".. No choice, being the "bully", they have to give in to me.. Hahaha..

After supper, we called it for the night and headed home..

VC sms me an hour later after I got home, he tried my cupcakes despite the heavy supper he had earlier. He said the cupcakes were: quoted "Heavenly Fantastic".. He decided to keep 2 for himself, gave 1 to his nephew, 1 for his sis and 1 for his bro-in-law.. Whahahaha.. Madness.. Told him I can bake more for him anytime..

EW said she'll have them tomorrow.. Her stomach is as bloated as a puffer fish now.. Anything that goes down her throat now would explode her belly... hahaha.. She promised to give me her feedback tomorrow.. ok.. I shall wait.. Feedback and see what I can improve on my cuppies further.. You better not forget k!!
